Wedding at Raithwaite Hall
Situated in the quaint seaside village of Sandsend and a few miles outside Whitby, Raithwaite Hall overlooks the dramatic coastline. Its is both a luxury seaside resort and a country hotel retreat, with easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors and National Park. Its a short drive for me as i headed over to capture Angie and the rest of the bridal party getting ready. All were staying at the Keep, a beautiful six bedroom house overlooking the lake. I suppose it can be described as a photographers dream with light flooding into every room.
Capturing those moments
The actual ceremony was to take place in the conservatory. A first for me and again another room flooded with natural light and a short walk through the impressive gardens from the Lakehouse. . As the guests arrived i was there to capture some informal photo’s of their arrival before Alex made her appearance. With the ceremony underway i set to work capturing those moments couples never get to see. This continued as i mingled with the guests during the drinks reception in the main hall.
As a surprise, Mark had hired a London Routemaster bus to take all the guests for a tour of Whitby. A lovely touch, which made for some interesting pictures as we stopped of at Whitby Abbey and the seafront. As i was only covering the wedding for a short time, once we arrived back at Raithwaite i left Angie and Mark to enjoy the day back at the Lakehouse.
