Jordan & Nick’s Review
Our dream photographer—we’re forever grateful!!
“Choosing a Sneaton Castle Wedding photographer was one of the most important decisions for our wedding, and I can say without a doubt that working with Gary was one of the best choices we made. From our very first interaction, he was warm, professional, and genuinely invested in capturing the essence of our day—not just the aesthetics, but the feeling of it.
On the wedding day, Gary showed up with the calm, steady presence of someone you instantly trust. He moved seamlessly through the day—sometimes guiding us gently when we needed direction, other times blending so effortlessly into the background that we forgot we were being photographed at all. He captured not just the big, posed moments, but the quiet, in-between ones: a hand squeeze, a tearful laugh, a shared glance. Those are the moments we now treasure most.
Beyond his talent behind the lens, Gary was just a wonderful human to have around us on such a personal, emotional day. He was patient and kind with our family, helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and even kept us grounded when the schedule got a little chaotic. I felt like he truly saw us—not just as a couple, but as people.
When we received a sneak peak of the gallery, we were honestly speechless. The images are more than beautiful—they’re alive. Looking through them took us right back to every feeling, every connection, every spark of joy.
If you’re looking for someone to photograph your wedding, don’t hesitate for a second. Gary doesn’t just take photos—he preserves memories in the most thoughtful, authentic, and breathtaking way. We’re forever grateful to have had him by our side on such a meaningful day”
As Jordan had planned practically every detail to perfection, the day unfolded smoothly. From the way the bridesmaids’ bouquets matched the castle setting, to the subtle lighting in the chapel, to the seamless transition from ceremony to reception—it all reflected Jordan’s attention to detail. She clearly knew what she wanted: a day full of joy, authenticity, and the kind of effortless elegance that doesn’t shout—“look at me!”—but instead whispers, “we love this, and we’re sharing it with you.”
The bridal prep
On the morning of the wedding, Jordan and her seven bridesmaids (yes: seven very supportive, smiling sidekicks!) were buzzing—hair, makeup, dresses, laughter, maybe a little nervous excitement. I worked quietly in the background, documenting the prep with a relaxed, informal documentary approach—because to me a wedding is about capturing real moments, not forced poses. I believe the best images happen when people are just being themselves, smiling, hugging, chatting, sneaking a happy tear. My style: part fly-on-the-wall, part gently guiding when needed.
You could practically feel the trans-Atlantic excitement as the bride, her bridesmaids and family made their way from the USA to the windswept coast of North Yorkshire, all for the big day of Jordan & Nick at Sneaton Castle. The American laughter and friendly accents mingled with the crisp sea breeze of Whitby as the whole crew arrived—bridesmaids in a flurry of matching dresses, family hugging and catching up, the whole party bringing a joyful energy that set the tone for the wedding right from the start.
The wedding ceremony
The ceremony in the chapel was one of those moments where everything felt just right. The light streaming through windows, the bridesmaids lined up, smiling, the bride walking down the aisle, the groom at the end waiting (with maybe a little grin). I captured candid glances, soft sighs, the bridesmaids squeezing hands, the family’s proud expressions. The architectural drama of the chapel—the domed ceiling, the stone floor, the sense of history—gave the ceremony backdrop real gravitas.
After the formalities we moved into portraits. These weren’t stiff, posed portraits; instead I steered Jordan & Nick into the gardens and grounds of Sneaton Castle, letting them wander, laugh, lean on each other, look at each other, soaked in that North Yorkshire light. The castle gardens—with vine-covered walls, castle steps, greenery, a little magic of their own—made a perfect backdrop. One of my favourite spots: a veranda with filtered light, leaves just catching evening glow. The aim? Make them forget the camera was there, and just be together. Because those relaxed, informal portraits always tell the truest story.
The reception that followed was lively (just as planned). And then came their first dance. Choreographed. Beautiful. It wasn’t just “awkward sway and hope for the best”—no, Jordan & Nick had worked on this. Their timing, their lead and follow, the smiles locked between them, and the cheers from friends and guests—everything combined into a moment that I was ready to capture in full frame: the twirl, the bright eyes, the laughter mid-step, the applause at the end. It was one of those highlights you know will look amazing in the album.
Sneaton Castle Wedding photographer – My photography approach
Throughout the day, my style remained consistent: unobtrusive but present, capturing the in-between moments, the genuine interactions, the unscripted hugs and bursts of laughter. As a Sneaton Castle wedding photographer, everything from the bridesmaids making each other laugh while adjusting dresses, to the parents wiping away happy tears, to Jordan & Nick’s quiet private moment away from the crowd—I was there to capture the emotion, the connection, the story.
Planning your very own Sneaton castle Wedding?
In summary: Jordan & Nick’s wedding at Sneaton Castle was a beautiful blend of trans-atlantic family, castle splendour, meticulous planning and spontaneous joy. The venue delivered on style and setting with its historic chapel and lush grounds. Jordan pulled off planning to perfection. You (me, the photographer) carried a relaxed documentary style that let the day breathe. And the bride, groom and bridesmaids (seven strong!) let the moment be theirs—even as I documented it. That first dance, that garden portrait, that chapel aisle—all of it added up to a day I’ll remember and be proud to have photographed.
If you ever want to look back on this wedding, I hope your images will transport you to that castle in North Yorkshire, to the laughter, the love, the light—and to the moment when two people said “yes” surrounded by family and friends from overseas, in a place that felt timeless. Congratulations again, Jordan & Nick—what a day.
