Wow, what a unique and stunning venue Lauren & Ssteven chose for their big day. It’s not my first visit to Sneaton Castle. In fact iv’e photographed a number of weddings here. If you are unfamiliar with The Castle then do check out the photohgraphs below. It has one of the most incredible chapels, beautifully decorated and a dream for any photographer.

Set amidst the historic and scenic backdrop of Whitby, Sneaton Castle invites you to experience quintessential British charm. Lauren & Steven had a super relaxed wedding. A personal highlight was the speeches, a beautiful and unforgetable moment with Lauren using sign language. Let’s not foget about the first dance either.

Lauren and Stephen’s wedding at Sneaton Castle was the kind of day you dream about—full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. From the elegant preparation in the morning to the emotional speeches at night, every detail was a testament to their love story.

Bridal Preparation: The Perfect Start

The day began with Lauren surrounded by her bridesmaids and loved ones, getting ready in one of Sneaton Castle’s beautiful suites. The room was filled with excitement, happy chatter, and a touch of nervous energy as Lauren prepared to walk down the aisle.

One of my favorite parts of bridal preparation is capturing the small, meaningful moments: the bride’s radiant smile as she sees her reflection, the quiet support of her bridesmaids, and the soft details of her dress, veil, and flowers. These candid moments set the tone for the day and tell such a beautiful story of anticipation and love.

The Ceremony: The Elegance of Sneaton Castle

The Castle has been beautifully transformed into a ceremony space but still retaining its original features. It was one of the most amazing ceremonies I’ve been lucky enough to witness. Full of emotion and lauhgter and vows that were beautifully personal and heartfelt. Below, you will see a selection of my favourite images from their day. Such an amazing day that was a huge privilege to photograph.

Sneaton Castle’s wedding chapel is breathtaking. The elegant architecture, warm lighting, and intimate atmosphere made it the perfect setting for Lauren and Stephen to exchange their vows. Documenting their ceremony felt effortless—every glance, every touch, every vow was filled with raw emotion.

A Bride’s Emotional Speech

Lauren’s speech during the reception was a standout moment of the day. Her words were heartfelt, blending humor, gratitude, and deep love for Stephen. It’s rare for a bride to speak at a wedding, and Lauren’s willingness to share her feelings so openly brought tears to many eyes.

Capturing her emotion as she addressed their guests was a highlight for me as a photographer. These moments—filled with laughter, connection, and vulnerability—are what make a wedding day truly special.
