This one is actually from December last year and would be my first Mecure Hotel wedding in York. For Nicola and Mathew’s wedding i was to be there for the full day. This usually means i’ll be capturing the bridal preparations and on this occasion i managed to get a few photo’s of Mathew and the guys prior to the ceremony. Although it was December it was thankfully a mild and sunny day. On arrival i dived straight into the bridal preparations. This is normally my favourite part of the day for me as it just gives me the freedom to document it as it unfolds. As i had plenty of time before the ceremony it also gave Nicola a break and so i turned my attention onto the guests and Mathew who arrived early with the guys.
I always love getting a few photo’s of the bride with her parents and if time allows, the bridesmaids. Something set up but keeping it light hearted and fun. Onto the ceremony, which unfortunately has no natural light so it meant pushing the camera’s capabilities, which on this occasion was no problem. This is  a great time to capture images of the guests. Everyone is relaxed and are usually unaware they are being photographed. These are the sorts of moments that couples never get to see so its an important time to grab as many as possible. One the ceremony was over and the group pictures completed i took the opportunity to capture a few of Nicola and Mathew together in the late evening sun before moving inside for a few more. Once the speeches were complete and first dance done i left the happy couple to enjoy the evenings celebrations before heading home.
